How long does one fill really last?
16 to 24 hours depending on the output setting. That's the main reason to choose this over a smaller unit: you fill it once a day rather than three or four times.
Do I need special water?
No. Tap water is fine. Distilled water also works and produces less white mineral dust on nearby surfaces if you live in a hard water area.
Will it humidify a whole room?
At 800ml it does more than a desktop unit, but it's still a personal humidifier rather than a whole-house one. Best placed near where you sit or sleep.
Is it quiet enough to sleep beside?
It runs at 36dB or below, comparable to a quiet library. Most people sleep beside it without difficulty.
Does it use much electricity?
1.5W, which is less than a phone charger. Running it continuously costs almost nothing.
Can I add essential oils?
A few drops of water-soluble oil is fine. Thick or greasy oils leave residue on the ultrasonic plate over time.
Is this an air purifier?
No. It adds moisture to the air. It has no filter and does not remove dust, allergens or pollutants.
